This might be through medical body parts - touch suits and the sophistication of our clothes, the synthetic nature of highly processed food etc.

While we have in built defense mechanisms to deal with impending danger, like an object moving quickly towards us, heights, extreme heat and cold etc. their are a new series of synthetic microscopic dangers we have no possibility of responding to through our normal senses.
