Turbulent Terrains

peak load offerings
to the celestial illumination of civilization
galaxies - each a universe of toasters, washing machines, fridges
worlds – each a civilization of TVs, computers, radios,
pinpoints of light - markers to heaters, dryers, cookers, i-pods
like a fuse to the detention of our destruction
trails of energy burn up before us
from an unsustainable source
wisps evaporate in diminishing trails
