Filter Draws
One
thing you may like to take into account when buying an enlarger
is having the convenience of a filter draw which accepts filters
between the illumination head and the negative. Both diffusion
and condenser enlargers often have filter draws. This can be
used in the following ways.

|
1
To change the grade of paper when using
multi grade paper. |

2.
CC filters to allow colour printing. This is a little more cumbersome
than dichroic mixing head, but can still allow you to print colour.

|
3
To soften the light source by inserting a diffuser. |

Be
aware that filters for enlargers come in various sizes, and you need
to get the size to fit the enlarger. 4X5 enlargers need much larger
filters than 120 or 35mm. Sometimes these filters need to be cut down
to fit the draw.
