Calibration

A method of adjusting scanners, video monitors, and output devices to a defined standard so that each represents colours accurately and predictably. Regular calibration compensates for degradation in output quality as computer monitors age, and it is essential to WYSIWYG ( what you see is what you get) colour. See colour management systems.
