Light in Photography -   LIGHTING -  FLASH LIGHTING -

Studio PROPS

Part of the philosophy of the studio is the use of props to create a scene that becomes an illusion within the camera frame and is transferred to film. As long as the subject is convincing within the frame and the photographer pays attention to details it does not matter what is happening outside this area. Things can be made of cardboard, held up with gaffa tape or string, mirrors can be used. Control of  studio light in terms of :

• direction

intensity

quality

colour

can enhance any subject and create the image the photographer is after.

A whole range of props can be co opted or created for this purpose, and the key feature (if desired) is effective disguise in the translation of the setting through the photographic process.

Images can be projected as a background, small sets can be built.
