Light in Photography -   LIGHTING -  FLASH LIGHTING

FLASH METERS & EXPOSURE.

While contemporary portable flash units have a computer sensor built in that shuts off the light when enough has reached the subject, exposures still have to be calculated for studio flash set ups. In stead of using guide numbers flash meters are a easier method of calculating this exposure. A flash meter, unlike a standard light meter is designed to record the intense burst of light and retain the reading on the scale

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE READING WITH THIS METER BE DONE WITH THE METER POSITIONED WHERE THE SUBJECT IS, GENERALLY POINTING TOWARDS THE CAMERA AS AN INCIDENT READING WOULD BE TAKEN.
