Materials that can be used to make photograms & other potentials
While most photograms are made with
standard black and white photographic paper, the Photogram is a process
that lends itself to experimenting and in terms of materials, the
limiting factor is only one's imagination.
Polaroid
materials:
While there is a wide range of Polaroid materials, and each might
need a different treatment photograms can be made using these materials.
Although not processes in the same manner as photographic paper some
form of processing the film is required, either a film holder or a
camera will work. Using a 120, 4x5 or 8x10 Polaroid film holder is
an easy method as the objects are laid directly on the film which
is positioned in the holder and the film is then processed through
the rollers in the normal manner.
An old Polaroid
camera can modified by removing the front lens section to allow the
objects to be laid on the paper then using the roller system to process
the film.
