Annie Baird lived in Brighton as a girl, Colin McCohan was influenced by Brighton. Sydney Mann the violinist lived in there for many years. Pauline Rhodes has worked on the beach.

Lindsay Crooks who died in 2005, Janet Weir, John Francis, Lloyd Godman and Lawrence Jones have either worked or commented on the area.
